The Low Road Gallery is an independent, not-for-profit gallery in Greencastle, IN. We were founded in 2009 by Julie Rooney and Lukas Schooler, both DePauw University alumni. Since then, we have held monthly exhibitions during the academic year, promoting high-quality contemporary art from artists around the country. At each opening, the artist(s), juror, or curator delivers a talk to the audience and participates in a Q&A session. These openings have provided students with academic credit, intellectual engagement, and a comfortable atmosphere in which to discuss art. The gallery has become an important part of the Greencastle artist community, and we hope to continue to grow.

We Exist

• To promote, advocate, and exhibit contemporary fine art without cost to the viewer

• To provide a space and audience to showcase local artwork

• To exhibit the artwork of artists outside of Greencastle in order to bring local inclusion into the national art community
